Feedback Strategies

The two articles that I ended up reading were "Why Do So Many Managers Avoid Giving Praise?" and "How to Give Feedback Without Sounding Like a Jerk". can relate to the title of both articles which is the main reason why I chose them over the other articles. I have worked in environments where managers were hesitant to praise or give feedback to associates because they did not want to come off a certain way. I personally appreciate feedback because I use it to learn. If someone doesn't tell me that I am doing something wrong, I will continue doing the wrong thing because I simply didn't know it. On the contrary, I struggle with giving feedback because I don't want to come off as a "Jerk" or that I think I am better than anyone else. I definitely think that if I use the steps in the article it will help when giving feedback and make me not feel bad. In conclusion, I think receiving and giving feedback is extremely important. I think that feedback should always be given respectfully and nicely. We want to give feedback to help others and promote success.
